Concussion management

The sports medicine programs at our facilities provide comprehensive assessment and management of sports-related concussions to help patients recover safely and effectively. We offer community outreach and education on the importance of identifying and receiving proper care for traumatic brain injuries.

We're one of the premier sports concussion programs in Western North Carolina and are the first program in the area to partner with ImPact Applications, a cloud-based neurocognitive tool used to diagnose and assess recovery from a concussion. We also partner with local school systems to develop standards of care and protocols to meet the North Carolina Department of Instruction mandates and safely return athletes to play.

Additionally, we work to educate local emergency, urgent care and primary care providers. We offer information and instruction about concussion assessment and management best practices, as well as the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) concussion regulations.

Rehabilitative services

We facilitate access to certified physical therapists and community partners who provide personalized recovery services. These partners provide a variety of other physical therapy and rehabilitation services to help restore function, increase strength and flexibility, decrease pain and prevent future reinjury.
