Infectious diseases are caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites. These diseases can be transmitted through multiple sources, including insects, animals, food and water.
Infection care in Western North Carolina
The board certified infectious disease team can assist with diagnosing or treatment of infections. In addition to prescribing oral and IV antibiotics, we offer pre-travel vaccinations and post-travel onset of illness. We are also state certified to administer yellow fever vaccines. Each physician has 9-10 years of education specializing in infectious diseases.
