Mission Hospital exceeds 100-day hiring goal in just 65 days
Asheville, N.C. — Mission Hospital is proud to announce that more than 200 offers of employment have been accepted since the start of their ambitious 100-day campaign just 65 days ago. More than 120 of these colleagues are Registered Nurses, with 65% coming from within Western North Carolina. While Mission is proud to attract candidates from outside the region to build WNC’s future nursing pipeline, this strengthens the long-term connection to the local communities served.
Recruitment has always been, and continues to be, one of the top priorities at Mission Health. Since 2019, Mission has launched multiple hiring campaigns to reinforce their teams and ensure they can continue delivering high-quality care to the community. By the end of 2025 alone, Mission Health will have held or participated in more than 155 on-site and virtual recruitment events across the region.
This most recent campaign, launched just over two months ago, was designed to bring in 200 new hires in 100 days – including 100 RNs and 100 additional professionals across specialties such as Imaging, Pharmacy, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Phlebotomy, Environmental Services, and more.
“We’re proud to welcome these outstanding team members to Mission Hospital,” said Jorie Matijevich, Regional Vice President of Human Resources for Mission Health. “They’re joining an incredible team of professionals who show unwavering dedication to our patients and our communities every day. I’m honored to work alongside such talented and compassionate people, and I’m excited to see how these colleagues will continue to improve the exceptional care we provide to our patients.”
While the initial goal has been surpassed, the recruitment behind the campaign keeps going. The remarkable volume and caliber of applicants seeking employment affirms Mission Hospital’s position as a destination not just for high quality care, but for healthcare employment. Mission Hospital’s dedicated recruitment team continues to reach qualified candidates across the region and beyond through a combination of hiring events, enhanced sign-on and referral bonuses, and community partnerships.
“Our commitment to investing in our people—through growth opportunities, workplace support, and meaningful incentives—is central to our mission of caring for our patients and our communities,” Matijevich added.
Mission Health remains focused on building and maintaining strong, compassionate care teams that support excellent patient care across its hospitals and facilities. This enthusiastic response from top-tier talent confirms that Mission Hospital provides a vibrant and supporting environment where healthcare workers can thrive and build meaningful careers.
