Mission Health lifts flu-related visitor Restrictions

Asheville, N.C. — Mission Health has lifted all flu-related visitor restrictions across its hospitals and affiliated facilities in Western North Carolina, effective today.

With influenza activity decreasing across the region, normal visitation policies have resumed at Mission Hospital and all Mission Health member hospitals and affiliates, including Angel Medical Center in Franklin, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, CarePartners in Asheville, Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, McDowell Hospital in Marion, and Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard.

“We are pleased to resume normal visitation and welcome families and loved ones back without limitations,” said Peter Deyoung, chief medical officer for Mission Health. “We are grateful to our community for their cooperation and understanding during flu season. These temporary precautions help protect our patients, visitors, and care teams, and we appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep one another safe and healthy.”

Mission Health continues to encourage everyday prevention practices, including frequent handwashing and staying home when feeling unwell, to help reduce the spread of seasonal illnesses.
