Types of infusion therapies we offer
While infusion therapy is the preferred treatment method for certain conditions, it can be beneficial for other reasons as well. These include if you either can't take oral medications or they have proven ineffective, if you're anemic, or if your doctor wants to see if you have an allergic reaction to certain medications.
Most commonly, infusion therapy will be employed to administer chemotherapy. Chemotherapy uses powerful drugs to kill cancer cells or stop them from expanding. While certain chemotherapy drugs can be taken orally, chemotherapy is most effective when being administered directly into your bloodstream. Additionally, by using an IV, our infusion specialists can quickly and effectively administer anti-nausea and other medications to curb reactions to the chemotherapy drugs.
Other than outpatient chemotherapy, we provide several IV therapies, including:
- Antibiotics
- Biologics
- Corticosteroids
- Hemophilia factor therapy
- Hydration therapy
- Iron infusion
- Pain management
- Plasma
