Our orthotics and prosthetics center

If you have experienced a condition that has resulted in limb loss or debilitating function, including cerebral palsy, diabetes, foot drop and chronic foot pain, we help you find solutions that are comfortable, easy to use and lifestyle-friendly.

What to expect at our clinic

Our clinic is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, and is a member of American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA). These designations speak to our firm commitment to positive outcomes, which are also informed by our four-step care process. This process typically goes as follows:

  • Evaluation — Your evaluation will include reviewing relevant medical history, taking measurements and physical impressions, which will be used to fit your artificial limb or brace.
  • Fabrication — After measurements have been made, our skilled technicians will create your artificial limb or brace in our in-house fabrication lab here in Asheville.
  • Fitting and instruction — Once your device is complete, our practitioners will help you test its fit and comfort, making sure that you understand best practices for proper use and daily care. If necessary, one of our physical therapists will be available to provide additional help and training.
  • Adjustments and repairs — You and your practitioner will work together to get a fit that works for you. Adjustments or replacements may be needed as you grow, age or experience changes to your physical condition or lifestyle. Regardless of those changes, we will be here for you every step of the way.
